| Don Breckon loved train spotting when he was young. Educated at Kettering Grammar School and Bath Academy of Art, he trained as an Art Teacher. As 'the age of steam' declined, his interest in railway history increased. Eventually he began the final move away from a teaching career into the unknown world of making a living as an Artist. He eventually settled in Cornwall. He decided to concentrate on 'railways' and to his pleasant surprise the paintings began to sell. Print sales increased as the landscape in the paintings became just as important as the settings for the trains. Don Breckon continues to work in the studio he built onto the back of his Cornish house. |
