| Gordon King was born on the 6th March, 1939. As a child his talent came to the fore early on, winning several major art competitions. After leaving school Gordon King concentrated on figurative illustration, training at Carlton Studios in London and at Reading University. In his early 20's he went freelance. Success came rapidly and his painting of girls in natural surroundings soon became his trade mark. The popularity of his watercolours together with the success of his prints and limited editions has brought him the high profile that he has today. In 1995, his book "A Romance With Art" was published, with a foreword by HRH The Princess Royal. |
